The Arboretum
is located to the rear of the Manor House, and serves
as a relaxing, yet somewhat formal garden to the Manor
House's patrons and guests. The Arboretum continues
to host weddings and social events.
Garden renovation is an ongoing endeavor
at the Arboretum, as new plants are introduced to the
Green Industry each year. According to Toby Bost, the
Arboretum’s director, “though the Arboretum is not
a trial garden to evaluate promising plants, we do
hope to see the addition of new cultivars in our theme
gardens annually. Subequently, we anticipate improvements
in overall garden design as the budget allows.
Visitors to the Arboretum will
be pleased to see our new addition ... a Conifer
Garden. In 2006, Phase I included the installation
of many unique cultivars and construction
of a massive retaining wall to the east, enlarging
the plantable bed space.
