native American wildflower, the Pussy Toes plant is so named because of the resemblance of its fuzzy, white, clustered flowers to cat's paws. In lawns and open fields, huge magic circles of the low growing plants bloom all together over a period of several weeks in spring, creating ground-hugging clouds of white fuzziness.
